In Christopher Robin’s garden grew a large apple tress that was covered with ripe, juice apples.
“Well have stewed apples for our dessert today,” said Nanny.
The next day they had stewed apples, and the next day, and the next. Christopher Robin and his Nanny thoroughly enjoyed them.
Now, each day prepared an extra bowl of apples for Christopher Robin to take to his friends, Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore , Piglet, Tigger and Rabbit, so that they could have some for their dessert. After a week of apples each day , Pooh complained :
“We’ve had apples for dessert on Monday Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and now again today. Apples aren’t exactly my favourite thing, you know.”
“Nor mine,” said Eeyore
“Nor mine,” said Piglet
“Nor mine,” said Tigger
“Nor mine,” said Rabbit.
Christopher Robin told Nanny, who said:
“Well, it’s shame to waste the apples. I’ll make them different tomorrow. Each of your friend shall have a special “little something” with their apples.”
The next day, at lunchtime, Christopher Robin bought each of his friends a surprise. He gave Eeyore stewed apples with thistles, because he love thistles. Pooh had apples and honey, because he love honey. Piglet had apples and acorns, because he love acorns. Rabbit had apples and grass, because he love grass. Tigger had apples and extract of malt. Extract of malt is what Tigger like best!
“Delicious!” they all said. “Thank you, Christopher Robin. We like apples, after all. May we have them again tomorrow?”
“Clever Nanny !” said Christopher Robin.
